Sage Soup is looking for narratives that feature food, of course. But, more than that, we're looking for stories that come alive through sensory details or tales that highlight an important cultural tradition. These could focus on an individual's relationship with food, or a family recipe with a little bit of background sprinkled in.

We're looking for:

- Poems

- Essays

- Short fiction

- Creative Nonfiction

- Recipes

- Anything else you believe has a home here!

Guidelines

Poetry: Up to three poems, two-page max per poem.

Essays/fiction/nonfiction: One piece, 1500-word max.

When submitting, please include a short third-person biography.

We're accepting both previously unpublished work and reprints. Of course, we will credit the original publisher.

Simultaneous submissions are okay, just let us know if you choose to publish elsewhere.

We do not charge a submission fee. Unfortunately, we are unable to provide financial compensation for writers whose work we choose to publish.

If we accept your work, we reserve the right to archive it on our website indefinitely. After your work has been published in our magazine, the rights then revert back to you. If your work gets published elsewhere after debuting in Sage Soup, credit us as the original publisher.
